Central Florida Slug Club Hosts Book Drive for Community
AccioBooks has started! This year Central Florida Slug Club is working with Impower, a mental health and child well-being non-profit organization in Central Florida. Donate your books at any Central Florida Slug Club or Tampa Bay’s Portkey to Magic meetup in April and May, or keep an eye on our CF Slug Club SPEW page for a list of donation locations. If your business, organization, or event is interested in hosting a donation box, please reach out to at cfslugclub at gmail.com.
Books will be collected from April 1st to May 30th.
The Slug Club will also be attending Nerd Nite on Thursday, April 9th at the Geek Easy, so bring in your new or used books to donate!

OrlandoiX Hosts Kickoff Party for Fall Event
OrlandoiX is Orlando’s International Digital Festival. Held October 2-6, 2015, the festival is a five-day series of conferences and exhibitions showcasing advancements in interactive media, digital arts, and entertainment technology. OrlandoiX serves as a catalyst for digital innovation and creativity in Orlando and beyond and builds connections between worldwide digital industry leaders. Over 80,000 creative technologists from across the world are expected to attend more than 200 events hosted in Downtown Orlando and the I-Drive convention district.
On April 2nd, a kickoff party was held at the Church Street Exchange building to begin the six month countdown to the first ever OrlandoiX.

Beth Phillips to Represent Nerd Nite Orlando at Future is Here Festival
We would like to officially announce that Beth Phillips will be traveling to Washington DC in May to represent Orlando at the Nerd Nite Global Fest in the third annual Future is Here Festival, presented by Smithsonian Magazine.
Her talk, “Robot Intimacy: The Inevitable Leap to Love and Sex with Robots” will be presented during a weekend of exploration into science, technology, culture and the arts, all gathered around the exciting and elastic theme of “the future.” Congratulations to Beth
